History
Silvapower has been supplying biomass fuel since 2004. Back then a number of local authorities and public bodies were interested in implementing bio - mass heating installations but were unable to get past the first base because their was no fuel supply infrastructure in place. Silvapower was set up to bridge the gap and with the help of South Yorkshire Forest Partnership, Sheffield City Council and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and South Yorkshire Investment fund we are where we are now.
Today
We are and aim to continue to be the leading woodchip and sustainable heat suppliers in SY and neighbouring areas since 2005, setting the standards of best practise for small scale fuel supply for the rest of the UK.
We believe in:
Providing fuel to generate heat which is more efficient than to generate electricity.
Using Locally Sourced Material from managed woodlands providing benefit to Woodlands which generates economic activity for the wood industry and enhances the environment for local wildlife and people.
Working closely with our partners and customers to make bio-mass fuel supply a sensible and logical option for all.
